Dress Code
Student Teachers are expected to come to the college in neat, clean, and simple Khadi uniforms issued by our college. All men students are expected to wear Khadi Pants and shirts, while women are expected to wear Khadi sarees.
Punctuality and Attendance
Student Teachers should be regular and punctual in attending the classes and all activities connected with the college. No Student Teacher is allowed to enter the classroom or leave the classroom during class hours without the permission of the principal.
Morning Prayer
Student Teachers should attend the regular morning prayer at 9.00 am. Every day Student Teachers must give their biometric attendance at on or before 9.00 am and at 4.30 pm.
Friday Sarvodhaya Prayer
Student Teachers must attend the Friday Sarvodhaya Prayer to be held at 5.00 pm to 5.30 pm compulsory.
Attendance Requirement
According to the Instructions given by TNTEU, Chennai, students with attendance below 85% will not be permitted to attend the University examinations.
Maintaining Silence
Strict silence should be maintained during class hours in the classrooms, library, laboratory, examination halls, and in the college premises.
Property Care
Student Teachers are expected to take care of the college property and help in keeping the premises neat and clean. Disfiguring of walls, doors, or breaking the furniture is a breach of discipline and will not be tolerated.
Visitation Rules
Student Teachers are not permitted to entertain visitors in the college during working hours. They are strictly forbidden from receiving personal phone calls or letters.
Examination Integrity
Monthly tests and model examinations are part of the curriculum, and students should be sincere in taking the tests. They should not indulge in any kind of malpractice during examinations or tests.
Prohibition of Eve-Teasing
Eve-teasing is strictly prohibited and will result in dismissal from the college. According to Tamil Nadu eve-teasing ordinance of 1998, whoever commits or participates or abets in eve-teasing in or within the premises of any educational institutions is liable for imprisonment for a term which may extend to one year or shall be liable to a fine which may extend to Rs. 10,000/- or both.
Anti-Ragging Policy
Ragging in any form inside or outside the college campus and hostel is banned. Senior students found indulging in ragging junior students will be dismissed from the institution. According to the guidelines provided by UGC and university, Student Teachers found guilty of participation or abetment in ragging will be subject to severe punishment ranging from cancellation of admission to a fine up to Rs. 25,000 and rigorous imprisonment up to 3 years.
Adherence to Rules and Discipline
Student Teachers must abide by the rules and regulations in force as well as other rules prescribed by the college from time to time. Thus, in the interest of the Student Teachers, strict discipline has become the watchword of the college.
Respect for Diversity
Student Teachers should not come with religious and community identities.
Consequences for Rule Violation
Student Teachers who do not follow the college rules and regulations will be expelled from the college.
Two-Wheeler Safety
Student Teachers coming by two-wheelers are instructed to wear a helmet. They should possess a valid driving license. The vehicle must be parked in the allotted space only.
Parental Involvement
Parents are specifically requested to contact the college authorities periodically to get first-hand information about the attendance, academic progress, conduct, etc., of their ward.
PTA Meeting Attendance
Parents should attend the PTA meeting conducted twice a year without fail. Their cooperation is solicited especially to ensure regular attendance of classes.
Library Access and Hours
The library is kept open on all working days for all students and staff of the college from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm. The library will remain closed on all holidays.
Library Entry
Students and staff should make an entry in the gate register before entering the library.
Library Book Borrowing
Student Teachers will be entitled to keep borrowed books for two weeks from the date of issue. At the end of the period, they shall return the books to the library. Student Teachers failing to return a book on the due date will be fined as follows: For the first week – Rs. 1 per each day of delay, For the second week – Rs. 2 per each day of delay. After the second week – the cost of the book will be collected. ID card is not transferable.
Library During Vacation
The library will be closed during vacations. Student Teachers failing to return a book on the due date will be fined as follows: must return all the library books at the end of the course or at the time of leaving the college, whichever is earlier. All dues should be paid.
No Printed Matter in Library
Student Teachers are not allowed to bring any printed matter, notebooks, or files inside the library.
